At the beginning of May, I had the joy of photographing Lauren and Silas’ Boston Public Library elopement! It was a gorgeous summer day in Boston, and they were so excited to marry each other. Their joy was truly infectious! Keep reading to learn more about the Boston Public Library elopement experience and to see more from Lauren and Silas’ elopement.
Last year, the Boston Public Library began offering one-hour wedding ceremonies! The private ceremonies cost $200 and allow up to twelve guests. All of the intimate ceremonies take place inside the Guastavino Room at the Central Library in Copley Square. It’s a gorgeous historic room, complete with a stone mantle and books, and it makes for the perfect elopement photos. After the intimate ceremony, photos are allowed in the Guastavino Room and the exterior of the McKim Building, and in Copley Square.
Regarding the logistics, the one-hour elopement ceremonies are available on the first Monday of each month. They can be booked up to 90 days in advance of the elopement date, and they must be booked at least fourteen days before the ceremony. The intimate elopement ceremony availability is based on a first-come, first-serve basis. In addition to the allotted twelve wedding guests, outside vendors may only include one officiant and one photographer.
Before the elopement ceremony, we walked from the South End and admired the stunning cherry blossoms. We had a leisurely walk to the Boston Public Library wedding room which was so gorgeous!
Once we arrived, we had the room to ourselves for Lauren and Silas’ private elopement. It was only the four of us in the room, this was so special! There’s something so unique about it just being the couple, officiant, and photographer. It was stunning, and I’m so glad I got to capture their joy!
After, we enjoyed wandering through Copley Square and taking a few more photos. Have a look at some of my favorites from the Boston Public Library elopement.
“I used Genevieve for my Elopement wedding day pictures and could not imagine anyone else capturing my day! She brought incredible energy the day of and truly was a joy to share in the experience with. She made us comfortable and had us laughing the entire day! We had never had photographs taken before, and she did an amazing job posing us and making it look natural. The pictures came out so stunning, and I could not be happier with them! Everyone told me that they look straight out of a magazine and I owe it all to Genevieve. I would recommend her wholeheartedly!”
